Taking the Land

We recently hosted the third EQUIP "Train the Trainer" event just outside Zurich. The hunger for leadership training is at an all time high. I was so encouraged to see all the different pastors and leaders from all kinds of denominational backgrounds sitting in the same room and hungry for the same thing .... how do I train up leaders in my church.

The reason they are so hungry is because they are begining to believe something. They acctually believe that they are a part of a God-thing happening in Switzerland and all over Europe, where the church is getting into position to take the land. Take Heinz G. vor instance, who was "persuaded" to leave his denominational church he and his wife served for almost 20 years. The reason they were not welcome anymore is because his creative ideas to reach people for Christ is something that did not fit into the box. Today he is meeting with a growing group of friends to build a team that will launche a new churchplant, where reaching new souls are the heartbeat of the church. They are taking the land. Awesome.

Then there is Petr F. in the Czech Republic who has pastored his church faithfully for over ten years, just to see the overseers of his association hold him back from growing to big or being to outspoken on key issues. I was able to walk him through that transition and see his leaders and his church grow in the process. I will see him again in January 2007, for three days of leadership coaching. Today Petr and his church have become a voice in the community and are seeing more people turn to Jesus then ever before. They are taking the land.

I am asking you to keep praying for the Pastors in Europe. They are all pioneers and they are taking the land.

You Go girl ...

Sandy has had a passion for teaching swimming ever since being a lifeguard in HighSchool. Besides getting the best tan of her cheerleading squad, she discovered a new passion in life, that to this day, draws her again and again into the shallow end of a pool with a bunch of little kids. There is something about a little face that is coming out of the water with a big smile shouting "I did it - I did it ... miss Sandy, I did it, I swam all the way to the steps with no help".

Today, Sandy has linked her passion to teach little ones swimming with another great passion ... Reaching the mom's with the Love of Christ. Sandy says that every heart has a door and all she does is look for that door. Once I find it, all I need to do is open it. That door can be a need or a philosophy or a believe. I find out what they like to talk about and use that very topic to present Jesus to them.

Sandy is teaching swimming in four international schools as well as a mom-tots class. She has been able to minister and pray with so many mom's and invite them to church. Just another creative way to reach people for Christ.
